Team Network was created in 1992 for successful business owners focused on revenue growth and expanding relationships.
Members enjoy numerous options and opportunities for networking throughout the year offering a unique experience for both B2B and B2C businesses enabling increased introductions, exposure, connections, and referrals.

The people you would meet at a Team Network function are entrepreneurial in nature. You would find mostly a room full of business owners. You would also find presidents of companies, managers, independent contractors and top-level sales people.
The members of Team Network are positive, optimistic and friendly. They believe in maintaining high standards of honesty and integrity in the way they do business. They also believe that building a business by word-of-mouth is the best way, and they want to associate with others who feel the same.
Most networking events are held in the Montgomery County Area, with networking groups in Rockville, Bethesda, Silver Spring, Gaithersburg, Olney Maryland, along with networking events located in Tyson’s Corner, Arlington and Reston Virginia.
HOW THE TEAM NETWORK MODEL IS DIFFERENT
Networking Options + Opportunities = Business
Each “Team” is made up of various business categories from A to Z, i.e.; Accountant; Bank; Carpet; Dentist; Electrician; Florist; Graphic Designer; Home Improvement; Insurance; etc. All potential new members are required to visit their prospective Team. They are pre-screened for quality, dependability and personal service and are then interviewed to see if they have a genuine enthusiasm for helping their Team be successful. If so determined, they are invited to join by the Team Captain. Finally, they are coached to network successfully and take full advantage of what the “Team” Networking has to offer.
Team Network is providing a special opportunity to those people who are generating 75% or more of their gross sales with other businesses as opposed to everyday consumers. If you feel you fit into that criteria, you will be able to become part of a Team Network group that typically meets twice per month and would be made up of people in business categories such as commercial Real Estate, Advertising Companies, Business Coaches, IT Service Companies, Business Bankers, CPA’s, Business Law Attorneys, Commercial Insurance Agents, Office Equipment Sales People, etc. These groups typically meet in the morning or during the lunch hour.
Team Network Martys – Happy Hour Huddles – Netfasts – Punches
The primary activities are monthly late afternoon and evening functions called “Martys” (Meeting/Parties). The unique Marty concept strategically blends social interaction followed by a business meeting. The Marty and its meaning have become synonymous with the Team Network itself. Members are even referred to as “Marty-ers,” and while they are participating they are “Marty-ing!”
At Martys, Team Network members come together once-a-month typically at their fellow members’ places of business. The first 30 minutes provides members and their guests with a relaxed, party atmosphere where all can have fun and enjoy themselves. This format helps break down barriers. Members truly get to know one another and forge strong personal relationships characterized by warmth and respect.
After 30 minutes, the meeting is called to order and the formal portion of the Marty is held. This is when members share valuable information with the whole group, give testimonials, pass qualified leads, and explore creative ways to help one another to become more successful. This is also when potential member guests are given an opportunity to introduce themselves. When a group of high-energy, successful, non-competing entrepreneurs commit to work together for everyone’s benefit, the results are amazing!
Happy Hour Huddles are typically held in a local restaurant and are more social in nature. A shorter, less formal, meeting takes place for attendees to make a quick introduction and to make a few announcements.
Netfasts & Lunches
Several of our Teams have opted to make at least one of their two gatherings a more businesslike setting. Netfasts (Networking Breakfasts and Lunches) in a conference room is most optimal to accomplish this. Here, Teams follow stricter agendas, share information and ideas, discuss challenges they are facing, define their best customers and target markets, bring in guest speakers, etc.. Our B2B Teams are more prone to this approach but our other Teams exercise this format as well.
Meeting with a fellow Teammate one-on-one to talk business and get to know one another better gives fellow members the best chance to form a tight-knit networking bond. These “Punches” (Power Lunches) are strongly encouraged by the Team Network home office for members to take full advantage of their Team membership. It’s also not unusual for Punches to consist of more than one Team Member our may include a guest for introduction. It’s particularly effective if these Power Lunch participants share overlapping target markets.
The Team Network Mega-Marty is defined as a special event where two or more Teams gather together for a networking function.
Other Team Member Gatherings & Cooperative Events
Beyond these very regular functions, the Team Network has organized a number of peripheral activities such as gathering together to attend professional sporting events, playing in group golf outings, and even taking an ocean cruise to the Western Caribbean. We have organized professional seminars and workshops on various topics for the benefit of Team Network members. We also have several joint networking events each year with other organizations. Team Network is all about providing a variety of networking options and opportunities to build closer relationships, meet new faces, and ultimately grow our member businesses.
